It looks like scratches to me.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

It is PMD, those are scratches, not a lamination.

They are a little deeper to be a scratch.
I'll see if this photo can show that.

I suspect post-strike damage, not die cracks.
