I have the penny with the L in liberty on the rim. I have tried to do some research to see if it is an error or not. I haven't found anything. It probably is normal but I just wanted some feedback to learn more about it. Thanks!

L on the rim is not an error.

It's just normal die wear - as coins are struck, the dies spread out from the center. Overuse the die and the spread goes further.

Not an error as stated above. Die Deterioration can cause the letters to merge towards the edge of the coin.

It is very common to have the L on the rim, it was part of the design back then. Later on the design was changes to fix that.

Thanks for the feedback. I knew it was probably normal. I'm still pretty new to this, and have a lot to learn.
