I'm very new to this hobby, but I found a peculiar penny. The date I cannot make out, but there seems to be quite a lot of damage to the coin, which I believe happened during minting. What do you all think, and what kind of damage do you believe it might be? I hope the photos aren't too low quality.

To CCF! No, this isn't an error. It's all Post Mint Damage ( PMD). This cannot happen during the striking of the coin, so it's PMD. Could have been the in a parking lot for some time. Worth 1 cent if you can get someone to take it.

From my huge lack of knowledge that to me would be PMD. No way it left the mint like that as my elders in knowledge would say
