Also looks like a no post which is caused by an over polished die. Can occur on any year Memorial cent.

JimmyD is correct, it's from over-polishing. I think the 69-D is the only one people look for with the missing FG.. The "bottle image" you see is what they call " paranoia".

Yes, likely an over polished die issue. Paranoia....could be valid, in a strange way...

Pareidolia is a perceptual phenomenon, while Paranoia is a psychological state. Both are equal to seeing things...  . . . . . What made me write that word!

Looks like maybe a floating roof, too. The most common dates (per Google) are 1969-D, 1971-D, 1972-D. So a 1970-D would fit right in. Neat coin, thanks for sharing! =)

I was going to point out the floating too, and makecents is correct, you usually get both - from an over polishing event.

1970's and also 1969 Lincoln cents were well known for over polished dies! "Floating Roofs" and no "FG's" were common!
