2023-P Quarter, Lesser Edith Die Clash.

Purchased for $15 in the error section of ebay U.S. Coins, this is an example of a 2023-P Edith K die clash. It is not the very intense—and quite popular—die clash listed on MAD Die Clashes ADC-25c-2023-01EK. The clash on this coin shows up well behind Washington's ear. The mirrored letters of EDITH are raised from the surface, due to the odd way that the incuse reverse lettering produces a clash that is effectively a negative like a proper die. Clash remnants can be seen from the gap between Washington's ponytail and neck, interacting with the fields and river edge on the reverse.
