Been trying to figure this one out.
Does NOT appear to be staining.
My only guess is that perhaps it was over polished to give it this look.
Any thoughts?

What is it that you are looking at? I see lots of contact hits on the top of the ear, Cheek, chin and the back of the head.
other than that it looks normal

Dearborn; I posted a new pic with an arrow (thanks)

Abe's hair looks like it was shaved in the shape of a spear. It is totally flat around that area.

Could it just be mechanical damage (i.e. flattening from something heavy striking it)?
