I have what appears to be a 6/6 but nothing else matches the classic overdate. I was wondering if there are multiple varieties but all I can find is the most common. I would include a picture but I can't capture one with my phone and the best I can do is the microscope and I know that's a no no. It is not push doubling, or at least I do not believe it is as it is consistently in the exact same location across multiple cent coins. Can anyone help, should I just post the picture?

Odds are good, what you are seeing is "chipping" in the date, VERY common on early 60's coins, nothing special. Post a pic if you can but here are some links to check out.

You can use your Microscope, but just use an SD card or connect your scope to a computer and capture the image on the computer. (that is what I did..

Looks very much like the circled part on this picture. Does that mean it is a die chip?

Yorick, what you are showing is the 6 from a small date 1960 coin. There were major issues with both the small and large date 1960 dies, as it is believed that the master die for these two were created from the 1959 master hub and then re-engraved. The small and large date had major issues that you will see across P,D, and proofs and throughout the obverse, not just the date.
Back to what you are referring too though. On top of your 6, there is shipping showing but I do not think that is what you are referring to, it's the "knob" on the inside that protrudes inward. This is part of the poor re-engraving job that I spoke of and a pic below will show this pointed out (from an article by B.J. Neff). I have also included that article, along with another from Error-Ref that will explain this more in depth. After reviewing this, let us know if you have any more questions.
