Good Day Community, Looking for advice on how to handle the submission of a 1983 no S Proof Dime still in the set I recently acquired. Should I crack it out ,let the grading Party do the honors or something all together different? All comments are welcome.

Interesting. Would be nice to see it, if possible. I am not sure about the cracking. Probably logistically better to crack it first, but an intact set has some value. Maybe.

Personally, I'd leave it in the set. As jbuck requested, pics please.

If you are going to get it graded, I would leave it in the package and let them crack it out. Just be sure to tell them to only grade the dime and not the others.

Good evening coin community, to be clear from a bad choice of words this post is indeed about the 1983 Proof no S Dime. Not to be confused with the 1983 P or D Uncirculated Souvenir Set which where sold in the Mint gift shops. All of the 83 Denver And Philadelphia coins bear the characteristic mint marks. Excuse me for not posting pics , It has been quite a while since my last post and frankly I have to relearn the posting process. More to come thanks for your patience.

Quote: Just to make sure you have a proof set and not a mint set. Yes, has to be Proof Mint Set. No Uncirculated Mint Sets were issued that year or the year before (1982). Quote: Not to be confused with the 1983 P or D Uncirculated Souvenir Set which where sold in the Mint gift shops.

I would send the set to NGC. I believe they will put them all in one slab.

These images where taken this morning,I just have not reset the time stamp in the coin scope. I am the least tech savvy boomer around! And I have reached the decision that the Dime remaining in the Proof Set out weighs the removal and grading individually. Thanks for your inputs.
