I've started collecting US coinage that are still in the older grading company holders. I'm particularly fond of the ANACS "Soap Box" and NGC "Fatty". I kind of wish that these two companies would bring these holder styles back.

Do you like the older holders? What coins do you have that are still in the older slabs?

I really do, but I buy coins not holders. But when a nice coin in an old holder shows up. I usually can't say no.

I have several Morgans and Peace dollars in the older ANACS "soap box" and love the look of such a large coin in the smaller slab.
But, Here's the dilemma...if you have a coin in older holder like an ANACS "soap box", do you crack out the coin to place in an album or do you buy another example for the album?
For me I just can't destroy those older slabs...

Mine are all newer holders, even the three I cracked for an album. If I managed to buy something in an older holder, it would probably be to keep and not crack.
