I recently found this 2006-P Lincoln Cent which has a Bar that extends from the Column to the right of Lincoln's right elbow (this is on the left when viewing) Southeast to his' foot! I believe that it may be a Doubled Column. Let me know what you all think. If it is a Doubled Die Variety, I can't find a listing for it on Copper Coins!

Some of the bar cents are to minor to list. Because of cleaning/polishing marks near columns they appear to be something, but are not. Coppercoins.com/ have a measurement as to where to draw the line and stick to it. Others may list everything/every bar. There are a lot to find when searching out there.

Coop,

You say that "Coppercoins.com/ has a measurement as where to draw the line and stick to it". So what is that measurement as to where to draw the line, is it defined anywhere, who determines that line? There are many Cents on Coppercoins.com with bars or lines that are far more insignificant than the one on my' coin that have received a designation as a Doubled Die with a Doubled Column! I don't want to sound negative but are Doubled Die designations given to a coin due more to the Submitter than the merits of an extra device or devices on the coin? I would hope not and would hope that these designations are based on fact and analysis with no bias to who submits the coin!

Below, I have provided additional pics of the extra bar, line or whatever you want to call it! The bar or line is significant enough that one would think that Lincoln has a Walking Stick laying across his' right shin with the end sitting on the floor of the Memorial Building.

I've found one like that also. I was looking for a vertical bar on the first image.

These images are of coins I've submitted to be attributed but haven't heard back from him yet.
I finally found the post on coppercoins that dealt with the size of the bar.

It is in the comment from Bob.

Coop,

Well, I think that the bar or line on my' coin and the coin in your last picture, meet most if not all of the definition that Bob stated "We are looking for the bars to be at least as long as the statues arm with some good definition"!

Frank

P.S. I am working on some additional pics. I wish that my pics would come out as nice as yours!

Frank: Good equipment helps only if you can master it to do what you want it to. I test the limits with something till it works for me or scrap it to get what will work for me. I've tried three different scopes and the first one was one of those play microscopes. The thing I figured out soon with them was the drawbacks of not being able to light where I wanted it and the plastic lens gives real poor images. The second scope was a fixed 10X scope. The images still look great as I look back on them, but it also had a couple of draw backs. The images on the left side were fuzzy and the right side was nice. With a fixed one power scope, you could get the desired images as it was a one size fits all situation. With the adjustable zoom, not I can get the full image shots of Cents and dimes. Nickels and larger coins the zoom is not wide enough to focus full shots of them. Thus I got a scanner to take images of larger coins. The smaller ones work good on the scope, the larger ones work better with the camera/scanner. So it is a work in progress. Learning tricks that work from trial and error and what tips can help with images/setup for lighting/angle of the coins. So keep what works and be open minded to try something else. If it works, got with it. If not...well I think you get the idea.
Thanks for your comments. I have many images I've never shown yet. I wait till the right time to use them. Sometimes you may have never seen an image before, other times you see the same images over and over, but I highlite some new that you may have missed in them.

Although it may be considered too minor to list, my' 2006-P Lincoln Cent has been confirmed to be a Doubled Die Reverse Variety with an extra Column extending from the West Column directly across from Lincoln's right elbow Southeast at an angle to the inside of Lincoln's foot. The extra Column appears that it may even extend on Southeast to the floor of the Memorial Building. The Variety was confirmed by Ben Peters III at the Knoxville Coin Show and who is well known in the circle of Variety Collectors, Researchers and Experts. I have no idea as to whether it is a new Variety or a recent find that has yet to be published. Maybe Chuck of CopperCoins can shed some light upon the subject and if it is a new Variety, whether it is worthy of inclusion into the Variety Records.
