Hello all,

I have started going though some cents lately and have found a few possible varieties. Just want to make sure I am correct and not just seeing things. HaHa.

Cent#1: 1939-p Double Eye Lid?

Cent#2: 1939-p Reverse thickness?
I always have a hard time with these...

Cent#1: 1939-p Double Eye Lid?
Sometimes looking too close just confuses matters. The mark on the brow looks more like a chip. If it were a doubled eye lid it would be at the same angle as the eyelid and closer to it's size. The size is way to small to be one.

Cent#2: 1939-p Reverse thickness?
It looks promising. The dots appear egg shaped and the letters appear wider at the bottom. Images again too close to tell for sure, but I have hope for this one.

Coin #3 1946 DDR to west?
Sorry this one is Machine Doubling. Movement of the die distorted the west edge of your device to make it appear that something was going on when it wasn't. The flat shelf like distortion on the EPU is the test for Machine Doubling. The letters are not wider as in the case of a doubled die. Just distorted by the MD.

Thanks,

I go though a few hundred coins a week (small by most of you probably) and am still having trouble on the worn coins.
Cent #1 - I thought it may be just be a chip.
Cent #2 - I was not sure it was thickness or just worn.
Cent #3 - I was pretty sure it was a DDR (1DR-001 @ coppercoins.com) but I could not see the markers on the obverse.

Thanks again and hope to get more input

I did find a few other coins that I will be posting soon. I have not taken the pictures yet.
