Please take a look at this 2023-P Eleanor Roosevelt quarter. Everything looks normal until you look at the 'T' in ROOSEVELT. What has happened with the 'T'? Doubling? Broken Die? With the separation my first thought was double die but can that happen with just one letter? The wonderful expert thoughts on this one would be appreciated. Thanks.

very strange.....I can't help with this one. What really throws me off is it only goes halfway across the top of the T.

but why is some of he 'T' missing?

Partialy broken die - it is raised on the die to form incuse features on the coin.

I think the Mint started using raised die elements to create incuse problems on their coins just to keep us numismatists looking for errors!

OK Experts, I just found this 2023 Eleanor Roosevelt quarter with maybe a later die state of this issue happening with the 'T' in ROOSEVELT, This may help or add to the mystery of my original post. I know John1 doesn't like haven two coins on the same post but since these certainly seem to be related I am breaking his rule. I got both coins from a bag of quarters from the bank so it's possible I will have others of this coin at different die states. This coin does not have the doubling that occurred on the original post but does have the broken T at the top left of T and definitely broken die at bottom of T.

What are your thoughts now on this one. Thanks!!!

The 2nd coin is die chips. I'm starting to think the 1st coin suffered a hit of some sort making it look doubled. The top bar of the T has a dip in the middle which shouldn't be there but would be if there was moved metal.
