Quote: . But they mean how the different scenarios could start and play out. And by far my favorite one is how one action could actually cause the opposite intended effect and blow up. Reminds of when it was stated: "The reason it is so cold this year is because of global warming"

Quote: Reminds of when it was stated: "The reason it is so cold this year is because of global warming" There are 3 types: 1 People that make things happen. 2 People that watch things happen. 3 People that wonder what happened. I try my best NOT to fall into the last group.

Quote: Reminds of when it was stated: "The reason it is so cold this year is because of global warming" A little off topic, but since you brought it up, I believe they were referring to "Climate Change." The term "Global Warming" has a somewhat different meaning than how it's used in that statement. I'd be interested in seeing the source of that incoherent quote, if possible.

Well, technically, it can be unusually cold locally because warming temperatures globally have caused weather patterns to shift (including the jet stream), thereby causing colder air to flow to places it normally doesn't go. That's why we can have a "polar vortex" sending sub zero temperatures down to the Texas panhandle while Alaska is having a record heatwave. All of which is to say that, yes, global warming can cause it to be "so cold this year" as long as you are only focusing on a specific region and not the globe as a whole.
But I digress...

It was said on CNN years ago - you can go research it in your spare time. I don't want to say anything that can or will be taken as political here as I've been warned before and don't want to push my luck - . Getting back to the topic - Kinda boring now with Gold sticking around $5000 (4957 right now) and Silver hanging around $75. Not much of a roller coaster ride lately.

Quote: Not much of a roller coaster ride lately. I think I actually prefer a little stability rather than the gut-churning drops. Right now we seem to be on a bit of a downhill slope, unfortunately, with silver down to $72 and gold below $4900.

And now it's back up a bit. If it's a roller coaster, it's one of the kiddie ones...

Yeah, easy dips and rises. The kind you can take on a full stomach.

Silver has been trading contrary to the U.S. Dollar index since last night. The Dollar was spiking, Silver was selling off. This morning, the markets opened with the dollar and the VIX both up and rising to a peak. Silver naturally sold off and bottomed.. By 10 am both the dollar and VIX reversed and started dropping back... Silver chopped sideways. At around 1:30pm EST, both the dollar and the VIX bottomed out.. Silver and Gold attempted a little break out and remains slightly elevated as I write this. So what does this all mean? It means we're back to boring. It means Silver and Gold are both behaving completely normal again, as they should.

Right at this moment the nearest price magnet for Silver is at $73.60 and for Gold it's at $4,900. I would not complain at all if they just chilled out there overnight.
