It's smackdown Friday, profit taking at end of trading day. But considering how much yesterdays sell-off already wiped out, how much profit is realistically left?  |

made it to a Nice peaceful close today. 70s still on the playlist  Volatility was dropping all day and all the way through the close.. Lowest levels since Monday... Silver was well behaved.. Yesterday volatility was at max levels.. And we saw what happened. Let's see what Next week has up it's sleeves.  |

Are we at the close yet? Looks like there's still some trading going on as silver has slipped a bit back down from $78 to $77.

Yep, looks like the markets are now closed. Would have liked to see silver hit $80 (and gold hit $5000) to end the week, but at least the downward slide from earlier seems to have halted for now, and that's a good thing.

There's a few hours of trading left on Friday in the Extended hours trading, but I swear if they try another rug pull at 6pm we're gonna call a "foul" and throw it out. |

i was just breezing through you tube when I spotted an Asian Guy video proclaiming comex would collapse today. it was posted 1 day ago. I wonder how many viewers thought that was real.

Like many of the commenters here, I'm in no rush to sell any metals right now. If we see new highs maybe I would unload some silver rounds just to lower my average cost a bit, but I have no immediate need to. That said, it would probably be smart to at least have an exit strategy just in case.
So here's a question for anyone who cares to respond I would appreciate reading your comments. How would I go about choosing a dealer? A quick google search of "gold and silver dealers near me" gave me a fair number of dealers within driving distance. Do most of these dealers give quotes over the phone? Do they even answer their phones? Is walking in better?
Further context: I haven't bought anything in 15 years, haven't sold anything ever. Thanks in advance guys.

Thankfully today was more of a back to even recovery, after yesterdays traumatic beat down. The rug pulls are creating a lot of fear in the market and definitely bringing out the bears. Hopefully it calms down and gets back to a steady grind. But all it takes is one headline news event to get the roller coaster going again. |

@TSmith3510: I can't speak from personal experience, since I haven't actually tried to liquidate any significant amount of silver apart from some bags of junk silver coins that I essentially traded for a nice high-grade 1921 Peace dollar at a coin show over the summer. Having said that, though, if and when the time comes when I do decide to start selling in bulk, APMEX has a nice directory of dealers listed by state that I will probably use as a guide to find a recommended dealer near me: Local Coin Shop DirectoryI'm sure it will depend on where you live, but in my state there is at least one reputable company listed there that specifically deals with bullion (bars and rounds) that claims to pay close to spot value. Of course, I could also sell directly to APMEX, but I would be responsible for paying all shipping and insurance costs and I would rather be able to bring stuff to somebody in person at no extra cost. [And, no -- I don't work for APMEX. I've just bought a lot of stuff from them over the years and trust them to be honest and reliable.] |
