I'm selling my Dansco album of business issue ASEs tomorrow. The album has 1986-2013 (28 coins). I probably paid $10 each if you average them out, so getting $55 each, I'm not losing anything. That said, just out of caution, are there any years in there that are worth a premium? These coins were hand picked for my album, so they are all pretty. Am I good to go, or are there any I need to separate? Next I'll be doing my ASE proof/burnished set, but I haven't gotten a quote on them yet. That will take some research. Especially the 08R07. Thank you! Dave Edited by ratio411 10/15/2025 8:29 pm

The 1996 is the lowest minted of the bullion series so brings the most money.

There used to be a premium for the 1986, 1994-1996, but that was when silver was $17 an ounce, my LCS would pay spot for the set and about $20 for the Dansco. So you are looking at about $1820-$1920.
4 years ago I was offered the same set for $750. I already had one but should have picked it up, I would have 2.5x my money.

Yeah, I figure right this moment is a bad time to sell anything with premium value because people will use the silver value to pay spot for everything. After this value becomes normalized, the premiums will return.
Probably a good time to buy things with numismatic value, and not just melt value.

Disregard my calculation above though, I thought you had the dansco to 2022 (that's the book I have), take out $450 as you don't have 36 coins, so assume $1,370 to $1470

I was already quoted $55 each (assuming the spot value is the same today). They don't want the album. So, $1540.

I'm surprised you are getting above spot. Spot is ~ $53, my LCS would only pay ~ $50 (he currently has too much silver, many people are selling, paying $2.50 below spot)

Yeah, my local coin shops are paying 10-20% (which is robbery) below spot. This is a precious metal broker that is buying. He pays spot +1 for 'clean' ASEs. Which these are. He pays spot for handled ASEs, and pays spot -.50 for other legal tender bullion. I forgot what he said about rounds. I think it was spot -1. Spot was just at 54 when we talked. I haven't checked today. Could be less today?

Funny part is that he didn't want my Dansco, and as I was walking out the door he asked if I wanted another, as he has no use for them. He gave me one still in the plastic!

selling to a LCS you will get less then spot (so they can turn a profit later on) sellingh in ebay at above spot would be your best bet now.
