Today I got a package of my first 3 graded coins in my collection :) Graded coins are quite rare here (Eastern Europe) so after 20 years of coin collecting these are the first ones I got. Got them cheap I think and now I have ordered a box for graded coins but the problem is I like to keep my coins in holders 5x5 (or 2x2 for `Murican collectors ) with printed labels. Example like this one: So a silly question would be, what is your opinion on putting those labels around the coin on a white part of the graded plastic holder ? Yes I know there is some information about the coin up there but thats not what I want :) I mean could it be considered damaging a graded holder ? Anyway thanks

Personally, not a fan, but to each their own they are your coins, not mine. The only consideration is if you plan to resell someday. If the labels are not easily removed, it could be a problem that frustrates the next owner.

You can write on the holder with a marker for plastic. Erase it later with alcohol if you need to.
I much prefer the square card holders. My concession to recent fashion is now using adhesive ones. Rust in staples was a problem.

Quote: what is your opinion on putting those labels around the coin on a white part of the graded plastic holder I wouldn't put any stickers on a plastic coin holder. If you remove the sticker it may leave adhesive on the holder and cleaning it off may dull or scratch the holder. Get plastic slab holder pages for a 3 ring binder and adhere your stickers to those pages.

Thanks a lot for replying guys :))
Thing is I dont like writing with hand even on 5x5 holders any more, I tend to print labels always to make a whole collection uniformed :D Guess thats why I'm considering doing it on these graded holders... It bugs me lack of information they put on for each coin haha But as @jbuck said only problem is if I plan on reselling them - not in any near future... @Marve65 Ive seen those sell online, not that cheap :(, but that kinda creates a problem of storing because I have USA and Thailand coins stored differently not in ring binder...
Btw paid around 15$ for dime and 10$ for 5 cents and around 26$ for Thailand, do you think its a good price ?
My collection on Numista page: 7500 different coins and counting... https://en.numista.com/echanges/pro...hp?id=129798

I write the information on an index card, which is trimmed to fit inside the rim. When you stack the slabs, it holds the information card between them. As long as you write the slab number on the card too, you can match it back up if you drop it.
I do agree that you shouldn't mark up the slab or tape things to the slab.

I like Marv's idea of putting them in a 3 ring holder and placing the labels on that instead. However, I keep my slabs in the PCGS boxes and place a folded sheet of paper with all the info of all the slabs in order of placement.

I use a small yellow (post-it) to put pedigree or other information on it. I stick it to the back top above the reverse with some added scotch tape. It will help the cataloger when sold or others viewing it. It may be torn off during lot viewing by the auction house - but your right - added information can only help.

Thanks for all the input guys, I still haven't decided on labeling them. Like I said slabbed coins are not a thing here where I live, when I started collecting 20 years ago you couldnt see a single graded coin at the coin show !!! Nowadays they are coming in but in veryyy small numbers... so whole concept of my collection isn't based on that type of coins :) Anyway I bought a graded coin plastic box online and thats their spot for now. Box fits 20 so I got 17 more to go before I run into more "storage problems" hahaha
