I have the below 88 s and it has been cleaned based on the hairline scratches on the face. I believe this coin is unc details. I know this coin is known to have a lot of die scratches on the fields but not on the face. There is a person who would like to trade me a graded AU 55 - 88 s for it. They have 2, one graded by PCGS and one by ncg, they will let me pick which one I want. My question is do you think this coin would be ms if not cleaned, if so could it net grade and finally would you trade it for a graded 55?

Depends on what the AU55 looks like. They run the gamut from spectacular to what the heck. Yours is cleaned but not harshly. I would be looking to unload it too but it would have to be a trade up. The slabbed AU55 would not need to be spectacular. If it fits the grade and you like it I would be happy to part with this one. Let us know how it turns out.

Others may disagree, but I would be happy to negotiate AU-50 money for it.

In this case, the cleaning is not a huge problem, and the coin is still certainly collectible.

looks like a slabbed AU55's are selling for around $250. could not find any UNC details sold but there are some listed for sale for the same price.

i'd trade it, you would have to post photos of the PCGS and NGC coins to determine which one is best.

I think your Morgan is UNC Cleaned Detail, I would trade; they will be valued about the same (UNC Cleaned Detail vs AU55 Grade)..

It looks harshly cleaned to me, possibly Unc details. I'd rather have a straight graded AU coin, especially if the eye appeal is good, so I'd trade it.

Ok so I was able to choose from a CAC (I thought it was ngc) or PCGS AU55. I went with CAC because it looks decent and I believe it's a VAM 6A which is really cool. I checked coin number against image as well.

No brainer to trade it. Nice.

Oops, somehow I saw 4 prongs instead of the actual 3. Must be forgetting how to count.

Here is the traded coin in hand. AU55 CAC graded. The CAC images above on the website look washed out to me. This is more so what the coin looks like in hand.

I suppose they think they'll get a better grade with your coin, so they are willing to trade.
I don't think it's going to happen, at best: UNC - Harshly Cleaned...

They said they are going to send for grading and see what happens, they said they see 88s occasionally straight grade even when cleaned. my thought is they will probably just try and sell it to someone
