1973 D 1c Struck Through Late Stage Capped Die

CoinHI Pillar of the Community United States 2731 Posts	Posted 11/08/2025 8:09 pm This coin was listed with some blurry photos but I felt pretty confident about what it was. With two other bids topping at $1.25 I put in a bid for $8 and forgot about it thinking someone else would take it. Well, I won it for $1.50 (+shipping) woohoo! I love photographing these errors since they are all unique. This one has a MAD and what looks like a struck through within a struck through which likely came from the rim its connected to. It was pretty obvious what this was and the seller did have it on auction so you can't blame them too much. Maybe folks thought the struck through was a scratch? I thought it might be. With multiple bidders I thought for sure it would go higher but that's how it goes sometimes. I auctioned a BU 70S small date a couple years ago and with 1 bid it sold for $5!
