Hey Folks,

I found this today in my pocket change. It appears to have multiple errors. "COD", Multiple Die chips, multiple strikes, maybe a cladding issue. Weight: 5.575 Could someone with more knowledge help identify? Hopefully the images are clear enough. Thanks in advance!

Just a damaged quarter. No errors at all. Could have been buried at one time or subjected to an acid bath. Worth 25 cents.

Edit: I'm actually thinking maybe heat damage.

Thanks for the comment! Just to clarify, these areas would be caused by an acid bath? They are seem raised. Thanks again!

My bad. I'm thinking heat damage is a possibility. Whatever caused the damage, it's not a mint error.

When the surface is raised like that, then heat damage
is the cause. Sometimes known as campfire coins.

Heat damage (the bulging on the obverse is separated cladding from the copper core.) and an acid dip is a possibility to account to the weight loss.
The stuff circled on the reverse loos as normal as it can and is part of the design
