I bought this off of Etsy for 28.00 with free shipping. It has a hole and is pretty worn down from circulation, so that's why I got it for so cheap. It's in my budget range, so I bought it. It was also a good deal. It's the Large 6 with Stems variety. This is the first Draped Bust Half Cent I've ever owned, so I'm really happy to have it in my collection. The reverse is also rotated a bit as well. Errers and Varietys.

Thank you, jbuck! I appreciate it. I might upgrade it in the future, but for now, it will do. The price was good, so I bought it.

I have a few Half Cents and they are kind of special to me. In general, I stay away from holed or stamped coins. If a coin has a hole or stamp, does it reduce the value of the coin?

Jimbo48, coins with holes, especially old Classic coinage, does reduce the value by quite a bit. I might upgrade it in the future, but for now, I'm happy to have it. I don't usually buy holed coins either. This was a steal though, as these go for a lot more without holes.

Yes it was a great deal. I won an auction for a dozen large cents and got an 1837 token cent with a hole in it. I have often wondered how much that reduced its value. I have talked with people that only collect stamped coins. I just think it just ruins the coins collectability to most people.

It's a nice low mintage 1/2 Cent with character!

It's fun to have any example of such an early American coin. I don't have any Draped Bust coins, yet. Congrats!

Thank you, Bump111. I bought it from the same seller on Etsy that I bought my Draped Bust Large Cent from.

Nice pickup, Errers! A coin with history and stories to tell.

I like it. Draped Bust Half Cents on a budget are tough, owning them at prices like that you just have to accept the condition for what it is. Damage like that does not change the fact that you own a Half Cent minted in 1806 in the US's first small fledgling mint in Philadelphia. Nice grab.
