On the reverse there's a blotch on the top left of the shield and it doesn't look like post mint cause the metal is consistent past the scarring. I thought at first welding spatter but the metal consistency makes me think maybe a die crack?

If it is copper coloured ( can't tell by the pictures) then that would be a die chip.
Neither die cracks or chips are considered an error and add no value to the coin.

I'm thinking it's a Die Chip. That's a common location for them to appear.

could be a die chip, or a plating blister.. hard to tell.
I lean towards the former.

So an error is when something abnormal happens and die chipping is considered normal because wear and tear is a natural process?
