This weighs 3.85 grams and has a diameter of 17 mm.

I thought that with the clear date of 1222 (or possibly 1224) it would be easy to locate on numista but this was not the case.

Yeah, I think 1223 is the common Ottoman accession date.
I'm also thinking it could be 1224, maybe a civic copper? If the 2 on the other side is a denomination, maybe that would help?
But I have to admit I don't really know this area at all.

@andyg, yes it is a match for K79, Libya (Tripoli). AH 1223 Yr 24 (it appears that the final 4 partly fell off the coin and the shape of the number is rather distorted)

It seems that my failure to get a match with a weight and date search in numista is that no weight is quotes in numista!
