Thank you for the information sir. I'm new to coins. I got a 44 wheatie back in change on day. It looked crazy. That penny sent me on a hunt the hint turned into a trip where I found something I love.

I'm thinking post-strike damage. Large and sharp photos of the obverse and reverse could help clarify.

To CCF! We'll need better obverse and reverse photos, but I am suspecting PMD rather than a mint error.

Definitely PMD 100 %...how it happened is anyone's guess .
