Quarter error experts I found this spectacle - was found in the wild. Any idea what is going on with this coin?

Clashes, doubling, gouges, improper annealing? Maybe just a relative of a spitting eagle? Just lds?

Your quarter is showing heavy Die Deterioration on both sides, along with heavy Radial Flow Lines. Both the obverse and reverse dies were worn out when they struck your coin. https://www.error-ref.com/radial-flow-lines/

Thanks error, appreciate the info on radial flow lines. Wasn't sure those would happen on the wings also. Is the right wing marks DD as well? Isn't the spitting eagle technically also just worn dies and not a true variety?

Die Deterioration You may see this a lot on quarters. Fat letters and numbers that look spread out like cookie dough.

Yep! Heavy Die Deterioration.

The spitting eagle is a die crack coming from the beak of the eagle.

It is a variety struck from a cracked die. What do you mean by "True Variety"?

Hey Marv, I guess I'm saying a variety is typically "born" on the die, compared to a die crack being created by a die state. Maybe I'm wrong.

Oh, I see. Yeah - like an RPM or a Doubled Die!

Thanks all! I don't look at quarters much but I looked a few beaters in the change bin and found other quarters like it just not to this degree!

Thanks again.
