With the increase in silver spot and presumed volume of Morgans that will go to melt, any idea on how to account for the melt factor and subsquent coins remaining mintage?

Tough to answer. At $72 and still climbing I'd guess10% of the circulated, particularly those from the barain bins.

No way to accurately tell but you can bet there will be some "Experts" out there that will start throwing out numbers...........

No way to tell. There's been some estimates how much 90% is still around but hard to verify. You could do a browser search and find some discussions about it. Usually 90% silver dimes, quarters, half dollars, Morgan, Peace are not sent to refiners, few are melted because collectors want to stack them. But there have been times when silver prices spiked up, like in 1980, 2011 where 90% was sold to dealers and sent to refiners for melting, many bags of it.

Currently dealers have been reporting the refiners have enough 90% and sterling silver to refine and don't want to buy it or will only pay lower price. This indicates people are selling at the high prices.

Except for the low mintage years, most well circulated cull Morgan and Peace are worth melt or several dollars over melt.

Silver dollar survival rates were debated ad nauseum post 2012 metals spike. The "experts" had no clue then and will have even less factual basis for their conclusions now.

ask AI it will be just as accurate as anyone other "expert" trying to tell you how much will go to melt.

Perhaps some of the nerdier dealers document the availability of certain coins over time. They would be able to compare the numbers between now and then.
