Found these 1919s wheat searching a wile back , struck through a piece of retained copper peel on #9 of the date

Very interesting, It looks to be raised in the images, It could be a die dent.

So, is it raised or incuse?

Yes looks raised to me too. With this amount of circulation wear, I'm kinda surprised that there would be any struck through foil remaining. Die dent is my initial thought too, but surely there would be plenty of other examples of this if it was a die dent.

Thanks for comments , it's raised and going over the # 9 , I found it long time ago and I had labeled as a die chip back then .
