Checking to see if I got it right. The mint mark and RUST in trust on the obverse and the PLU and UN on the reverse are all MAD. thinning device and material pushing towards the rim?

Looks like MD, Machine Doubling..MAD is a different error.

Agree with Machine Doubling (MD).

The acronym MAD refers to a coin struck with a mis-aligned die where part of the legends on either side are missing.

Yes, MAD is not the correct terminology for this.

Mad is used when a coin is struck with a die that is not properly aligned with the center on the planchets. (Mis-Aligned Die)
MD is used for Machine Doubling
