Hello, I Wondered if anyone would know is this a error on 1984 cent. I do not think it is damage but I am usaully wrong. Thanks for any and all info .

Looks like zinc rot. Eventually the whole coin will rot away.

The copper plating has failed, exposing the zinc core which is now corroding. Typically called zinc rot as already noted.

I'm going to ask a moderator to move your thread to the US Modern error forum for better visibility.

I agree with above. Just zinc rot, no errors. PMD. Spend it before it turns to dust.
