$52. Recently I purchased 138 Peace dollars for $52 each. I bought these on 12/18/25 when silver was about $67.20. When the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the silver market in January of 1980, silver hit a peak of $50.35. The current nominal price of silver has surpassed the Hunt Brothers peak, but if you were to adjust that price in early 1980 of $50.35, back then that sum had purchasing power equivalent to about $209 dollars today, so in inflation-adjusted real terms, we are still far away from the 1980 peak of silver 45 years ago. Posting one Peace dollar for grading each day alongside my daily Morgan dollar with the hope that we all are able to help one another get better at grading Morgan and Peace dollars in the new year. Right now I think I have 143 coins in this queue for grading since I bought 138 and had 5 more lying around. My QSGing feels like a 61 on this one.
Believe it was Fortc. that said "60 was a dead grade nowadays"...so 61

The three touchpoints are always going to be the number, location, and severity of contact marks. Right around the start of the pandemic, I was seeing coins like this slabbed as MS-63s, and knocked down heavily on the bourse floors. Either the edge hits in the obverse fields or just the number of small scratches on the obverse and reverse should cap this coin at MS-62.
On balance here, either MS-61 or MS-62 could be correct grades, but the presence of both the edge hits and so many small scratches suggests MS-61 to me as the better grade. I wouldn't object to an MS-62 on this one, though.
