Just received word from NGC that this coin was graded AU-50. I am pleased given what I paid for it.

BTW WCG (Brent) gave me the heads up of this coin's availability so that is greatly appreciated !

I absolutely love that design. That is certainly another great grade on your recent submission. Now you need its 1/2 taler little brother to keep it company....

Just curious. In the dark ages, did they actually use these coins for barter? Or just for a commemorative pieces?
