Going through my coins I found a 1936 Wheat penny no mint marks in good condition but had a crack above the date and below the date. Is this common or unusual? Is it worth getting graded ? Thanks.

Small cracks are common and add no value to the coin. Certainly not worth spending $55-60.00 getting graded.

To CCF! Could be stains. Definitely not at all worth slabbing. Getting coins graded by a TPG is very expensive and often not worth it.
Errers and Varietys.

Not immediately seeing 'cracks'. Am seeing what appear to be circulation dings and (possible) scratches from long ago. Ultimately, I agree with JimmyD.

My camera is about 10 years old so it is not very clear. Under high magnification it looks like cracks. Anyway I don't think I will have it graded. I have other better coins that need grading.

to CCF. the 'crack below the date looks like a stain or something, but above the date may be a slight lamination.

Why would you consider having that coin graded? It's a very common Wheat cent - 309.6 million were minted. Yours may be a 20¢ coin at the most.

I am not selling this coin. It has a personal connection that I want to preserve.

First let me say to CCF, looking forward to seeing your collection. Quote: but above the date may be a slight lamination. IMO above the date looks more like damage ( PMD) to me and on both sides of the date running toward the rim looks like old scratches. no need to say " no mint mark" , no mint mark tells us it was minted in Philadelphia. D for Denver S for San Fran W for West Point. People lets not bring up the 1922 LWC here Quote: It has a personal connection that I want to preserve. I totally understand that, I'm holding onto a very common and worn coin I found in my father's belongings and plan on having it slabbed with his name (Lt. Col. ___ ___ Ret. Collection)
