I tried to sign up to Yahoo auctions and I got denied (buying and selling) because they could not "verify" me! Even though I am verified by Paypal, ebay and whatever other sites I have purchased and sold stuff from, Yahoo cant verify me. I asked if there was something I can do and they havent replied to me about it. Its been a few weeks so I'm just gonna forget about it. I just thought it was funny that Yahoo doesn't have any alternative methods of verifying people. No Yahoo for me!
Rest in Peace

Very Strange. I just signed up a few days ago without a hitch. Did you try starting from scratch? Sounds like a computer glitch of some kind. Is there a phone number for customer service available? Anybody out there selling on Yahoo that can help out here? Mike P.S. Even if Yahoo doesn't like you, we do!!!

Yep, I would give it another try. I have been using Yahoo auctions now for several months-successfully. Getting several sales each week. What I like about that- there is no initial fees, no fees for photos, no final value fees. Boy, you can't beath that!
At least so far as I am concerned. I used ebay for several years- but they have just simply gotten to ruthless in their fees- and I can see a big influx in customers coming over to yahoo. ebay users must charge more shipping to make up for their other fees. Sounds like the other fellow hit it when he said some kind of glitch- I would keep trying- and I am certain, you can get some good buys. Anyway- there is my Two Cents worth. Dewey

JerseyZuh, are you trying to use yahoo over some other mail provider?
the verification Yahoo usually mentions is that you have to go through a procedure where you send a verification e-mail from yahoo, then you reply from your other account.

As John says, if you have a Yahoo account it should work properly without any additional efford.
I have a Yahoo account and I just tried to sign up for the auctions, all I needed to do was state that I agree the terms and conditions.

Yahoo asked me for my S.S. number and/or Drivers licence number. I sent them both and they said they could not verify me. must have been a glich because I am ME...............unless my parents used a fake S.S. number for me when I was a kid

I tried to bid in one of habiru001's auctions and was likewise denied for some reason. habiru, do you require a minimum "rating" of some sort to bid on your items? I sent a message that went unresponded to.

Peace

I have never heard of ebay, Yahoo, or any other auction house asking for either a Social Security Number nor drivers license number. Are you sure you were dealing with the REAL Yahoo and not a spoof? I would never and have never given out my SSN to a third party other than my bank and other financial institutions. In fact, for Yahoo to ask for it may not even be legal. If I were you, I'd be watching for identity theft.
