Latest info from the Reserve Bank of Australia shows new issues of the $100 note for 2008. The first since 1999. Not that I have seen any yet. 2008 is the first year since 1998 that all five denominations have been printed.

Will have to see if Downies will have the contract again this year for the sale of the notes.

Can't you just get them from the banks?

You can if they have them, but they are usually regular issue. First and last prefix, RADARs, solid block serials etc as well as crisp uncirculated regular notes are sold by dealers. Since the RBA stopped selling to the public, Downies had the rights to sell these notes, which I believe they had to tender for.

Generally I get most of my notes straight from the bank or ATMs, but to get first and last prefix, you don't have much choice but to get them from a dealer.

got my first 2008 $100 today - with a very pronounced crease.
It'll have to do until a better one comes along.
