I voted "cardboard holders". Most of the coins I really care about are in 2x2s. Ancients, heavily worn coins ad others that are unsuitable for a 2x2 go into a mylar flip. The other coins (mostly my circulated date sets of Australia, NZ, Canada, US etc) go into plastic coin albums.

PS did you intend this poll to go into the "Australian decimal" forum? I can move it if you wish...

Same as Sap, cardboard holders for my better coins, which go into folders. Circulated sets in plastic pages and all spares in plastic pages as well.

Similar to both SAP and Latman, 2x2's for all the good coins, then some into storage boxes, some into pages, plastic for the circulated stuff. I don't use flips.

No, air tights are very good. I don't know about other Aussies, but I don't see them much down here. My local dealer has them, but he doesn't sell many.

Most of my coins are in coin books.
Some rare coins that I got, I put in in coin capsules.

Another vote for ringed Airtites. I believe they'll preserve coins better than any other method over the long term due to how they're manufactured.

I've been using the card-board 2x2 requiring staples.

Are the adhesive style safe for coins?

I've heard the glue can discolour coins....

I have had some coins in the self stick type for over a year now as an experiment to see what will happen. Results are that most brands don't seem to stay stuck if they aren't in an album and the coin falls out, usually to get stuck half way on the glue. All the ones in the Lighthouse brand are still in, with none coming unstuck and so far no toning.

Personally I think the staple type are safer, provided you flatten them so they don't scratch anything under them.

Latman: "... Personally I think the staple type are safer, provided you flatten them so they don't scratch anything under them."
- search previous threads for "flat clinch stapler"; mine cost less than $10 in Darwin.
