CoinDude69 New Member United States 36 Posts	Posted 01/18/2026 7:05 pm this is from the end of a roll of US Mint 2009 P Lincoln "Professional Life" pennies. I noticed some unusual shine on a few spots and as I looked closer, this is what I found.... I have no clue. can't find any examples. IMO it's a strike-through w/retained wire any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

Just curious on PMD when it's been in a roll? and I scratched tested it with a toothpick and it's raised. I think it's something embedded. there's a few other places that are difficult to get to for pics but what it looks like is the "shiny" spots are weaving in and out of the surface. So, the wrapper might have caused the ring but the shiny stuff on the letters and numbers that wasn't rubbing the wrapping is a riddle. It looks like "retained wire" Report this Post to the Staff
