Okay so I posted about this a couple years ago I believe but I never got a solid response as to how to go about finding out the value of this self contradicting coin. I purchased this Silver Eagle back in 2020 obviously & like every other coin that comes into my possession, I immediately put it under the microscope. I just wanted to have a look at what a flawless coin is suppose to look like. To say I was confused once I got a good look at it would be an understatement. Here was a coin graded at MS70 by PCGS & yet it had obvious errors. Now the errors may only be MD but regardless they are still errors on a coin that's suppose to be flawless. So my original question back when I first posted about this went something like this.... Does the value of this coin increase, not because of the actual errors themselves but because the coin itself is suppose to be error free & yet it has obvious errors? Seems to me like that would almost demand an increase in value due to that fact alone. I've tried finding other coins like mine since my last post about it but so far I've not found anything. I don't know if this is due to it being a "one off" or if it's due to me not knowing where to look for other coins of this nature. Either way I'm left returning to the only place I can think of to go for answers & that's right here with all of you knowledgeable folks. I have tried contacting PCGS in regards to this coin but I never received a response & if I did, my "Spam" folder must have ate the email. So I'm needing some advice on where to go or how to verify whether or not this coin would demand a Premium due to the nature of the coin. Since this is the place to find out about errors I figured surely someone on here would know what to do. Also I should add that the "In God We Trust" also shows the same kind of doubling. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a tiny hit on the Y and Machine Doubling on the date. Although I could be wrong.

Would MD cause a coin to not be a 70? I had a 1/10 ounce Gold Eagle graded 70 that had a die crack on it once.

Just an ordinary bullion grade ASE with a hit and MD. "First Strike" is a marketing gimmick foisted on the numismatic community by TPGs. All that it means is the coin was submitted for grading within 30 days of the initial release. As for the MS70 grade, I seem to recall that ~ 75% of the ASEs from monster boxes submitted by "the big boys" get that grade. If you spent 5 minutes examining your coin, that's probably 4.5 minutes more than the grader at PCGS.
At least it's worth a small premium over melt.

So it's nothing to out of the ordinary? If I were to try & auction it off on ebay or something, how would I label this coin in respect to the errors?

Machine Doubling is not an error, so there's no need to mention it.

Jsertl, here's a thought. If you sell it on ebay, you'll pay a 15% fee. You could list it here on the CCF.
