Very nice 1898-O.

Most of what I am seeing is superficial disruption of the frost. There are a few dings on the devices and more in the fields, but only three deeper knocks, two on the cheek and the other on the eagle's breast. There are several pinprick marks on the cheek and near the ear. Those marks hold this coin under MS-65.

Overall, this looks like a strong MS-64, and possibly 64+.

back off the overhead a little IGE. really makes it tough to see the surfaces properly. nice amount of luster present. I think most of the chatter is rub. might pull MS64 as the luster could push it over the line

May I ask what you paid for these in this new era of $103/oz silver? Melt value is $80 and I'm wondering whether there is any premium charged these days for choice unc morgans.

Thanks. Good to see that there is still a $15 premium. Was it painful to pull the trigger at that price? I still haven't adjusted to the new pricing. Probably easier because the coins look so nice and full of luster.

You have no idea how much it hurt!. I use to buy these in '72 for $60 a roll. I'm a sucker for nice eye appeal frosty coins even if I have to spend more.

Feels like a new numismatic world. I know that many feel that prices will collapse back to what it was a few months ago based on their prior experience, and they may be right, but to me it doesn't seem likely as overall prices have moved higher systematically and look to continue to rise higher.
