$67. #29 of 40 acquired recently. Recently I purchased 40 slabbed Morgan dollars (36 ANACS, 3 PCGS and 1 ICG) and will post one a day alongside one Peace dollar. I paid an average of $67 for the 40 coins. This time I will post the grade of the coin 2 days after and this time we can compare our grades with those of TPGs. Thoughts? Thanks!

Beautiful luster and a solid strike for an 1887.

The field scratch west of the nose and the longer edge ding from the nose to the lower hair are the real issues for this coin. The eagle's breast scratches are light and the reverse is solid. IMHO, the two obverse scratches hold this one to MS-63 and maybe MS-63+. It's close, though. The reverse alone would easily make MS-64. If it's a 63, very nice for the grade.

I agree with most of you in that ANACS undergraded this one calling it a 63. Great luster on this coin.

nice sharp typical strike. some fields scuffs obv. minor marks across the profile. reverse MS64 but I think the obv will hold her back to MS63
