I recently came across this 2004 P Wisconsin State Quarter and was wondering what everybody's opinions are on it. I believe that my specimen exhibits hub doubling on the left nostril of the cow. Unfortunately, the coin has taken a hit directly on the main design right next to that location, hindering my identification process by flattening the main design and in so doing muting the degree of protrusion of the doubling. Of the listings on Wexler's website, WDDR-005 appears to be the closest match, but WDDR-016 remains a possibility, although the latter is dubious on account of its doubling appearing ever so slightly below the doubling on my example. Further complicating matters, my coin does not have the die markers associated with WDDR-005.

I was hoping somebody on this forum could provide some guidance on which, if any, DDR my coin exhibits. If it is indeed a doubled die, it will be only my fourth found on the State Quarter series.

My apologies for the artifacts in the background of the attached image; the image compression software I used to fit my microscope's output into the 300 KB limit is imperfect.

Could be WDDR-007 or 016. They are very similar to 005.

005 appears to be a match, nice DDR. Regarding markers it could be a different die stage?

Definitely not 007 or 016, so may be a different die state of 005. There's only 1 person that could say for sure but full coin images will probably be needed.

You no longer have to compress your image files - there is no limitation anymore, the system does it for you. - so just snap away and post. (the only thing we want is to have the image cropped properly).
