sorry moose your in hand photos show a harshly cleaned coin

it is a weal reverse strike so taking that into consideration it could receive an AU details(cleaned). the higher devices are sharper than you would see in an XF coin

at straight XF45 it would retail for about $200-250 raw at AU50 around $300--325. so your $83 wasnt a bad price so long as you can live with the cleaning,

Quote:
I do not disagree with it being cleaned

when you see a large amount of hairline scratches parallel to each other like this, it wasnt caused by circulation. the indicator is that there is soil or anything hiding in the devices. what I think happened with her was that she was over dipped to clean it up removing all the original skin, then the whizzed or attempted to polish the coin to shine it up and fool unsuspecting buyers.

Harshly cleaned based on new images
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.
