Looks very promising, can you post a photo of the FG without the shadow at the bottom of the G?

Here is a couple of images to compare the two different RDV's for those years.

Here is another image with your coin and the RDV-006:

Yours is an earlier die state, but appears to be lacking the inside cross bar, so I would say it is a RDV-005.

Coop, I might be all wet here. This looks to be the RDV-006 to me. Check the 005 and note how the G tends to lean to the right. On the 006 they tend to lean left. Also on the 005 the G points straight to the rim, on the 006 it arcs down toward the vertical bar.

still lookin:

Congrats!

Definitely RDV-006! (1988P with Reverse of 1989.)

*FYI- You might want to consider requesting to join the RDV-006 Group at Lincoln Cent Resource- exclusive owners of this rare transitional cent).

Check this site to try and match your coin to one of the 4 known dies for a 1988P RDV-006
Just click on the RDV-Die4(upper right of screen) and it will change to 1 then click again and it changes to 2 etc.

chuckster 125,

It is die four. There is an identical scratch the falls below the crossbar on the T in cents. Also there is a small die scratch below the FG from the bottom right of the base of the building to meets the edge of the bush just below the F of FG. You can actually see this scratch on my photo above. This is not listed on the above website as a die marker, but it matches just the same. Thanks everyone for their input. I did not realize that the die markers were contained in the above website. Still lookin
