I heard rumors this is worth something? Is it worth getting graded? Also has a worn die lip on the "in god we trust" does this make it worth more, given the 1989 'fg' strike on the reverse AND the worn die lip (as that is my understanding of what caused the lip on the front...)
also that copper staining on the back does the put this out of the money?

Agree w/ Ridge Ring & unfortunately I'm not seeing the FS-901 '89 Transitional Reverse.

a rather large, well defined ridge rin on obverse, and Die Deterioration on the perimeter od the coin on the reverse.

(and yes, a rather unsightly stain dead center on the reverse.

The good news is that even with all that wrong with it, it is still worth 1 cent.

As stated, your coin just has the normal 88 reverse. You have a coincidental (die gouge/plating issue/die scratch) that give it the appearance of a horizontal serif. Here is a pic I marked up for another member that shows the lower serif sticks out past the upper part of the G on an 89 reverse, yours does not, it is even with it as an 88 FG is.
