Hi , can I ask what is meant when they say a roll is head to tail or tail to tail , what does that mean exactly and why is there this difference ? Thanks

It's what's at the ends, either a head and a head or a tail and a tail or a combination.

The most sought after ones (well, at least not for the dollars) is the head and tail, which shows you the mint and the design.

So essentially its only people who are keeping the rolls intact that would pay a considerable premium for the heads/tails rolls and the tail /tail roll would possibly sell cheaper ?

How does that come about ? Having two different types , is there any difference in the coins themselves ?

I have a few tail/tail rolls from 2008 that were send to me for face value+shipping. The guy pulled out all the Head/Tail rolls and sold them on ebay. I think he keep the Head/Head rolls.

Out of a box 1/2 should be Head/Tail 1/4 Head/Head and 1/4 Tail/Tail

In theory, this is a good ratio to expect. In reality, these exact proportions are impossible.

I just bought a roll of BU 1943 steel cents (Beautiful). I bought them from my local coin shop and they were in a plastic tube. Is it better to have rolls in tubes or stringers?
