If I learned anything from watching posts here on this site is:

Ask your CCF friends questions before you buy.

But some of us will never learn

I purchase my first Gold coin today...

What would you consider a fair price to purchase a 1997 1/10th maple leaf for with the family privy mark limited to 100K mintage?

Thanks in advance for making my day or bursting my bubble

I guess a base price to pay for any 1/10 would be around $110 total. As for yours... well... I hope you got it for $110 or less!

So I paid about $14 more than that

Do you say that because that particular privy mark is (as my Scottish friends would say) Crrrraapppp!

That's not too bad. 100k mintage is still quite a small number.

With the new ebay rules on shipping, that's about what it would end up costing to Canada.

I say this because these privy marked coins were minted by the Royal Canadian Mint for a U.S. customer..."Dillion Gage" in my 2006 Charlton Guide... but, it should be Dillon Gage... Specimen Finish(Plastic Case); 1997 Family privy with a mintage of 100,730 & 1998 Eagles Privy with a mintage 51,440. In my 2006 Charlton it doesn't get into further issues of of the coins... i.e. they were a special order and more could have been minted.

I would like anyone to comment on the "typo" on the thickness specification. Which was later corrected. Which means more of the series could have been produced. Which were really available to the U.S. before Canada. Which... if I assumed incorrectly... please let me know.

Canadian-Gold-Question-1/10th.

The one I bought did come in a plastic case like the one you pictured, only with the "family" privy mark instead of the eagles.
