What would you grade this one? Sellers photos. Looks like some strike weakness in spots. Almost a split tail.

yes these are a challenge to grade and not a series for newbies to start out with if they are buying raw. there are just too many issues with individual dates, dies, strikes, die polishing etc.

this is one for FC to assess. I'm not familiar with the 1920 buff and how it would grade out at a TPG

i do not believe thats a fingerprint as the lines are too straight. maybe a cloth that the coin was lying on or wrapped at some point

a lot of what we see here is strike or die polishing. I'm not good enough to determine which is which here but the braid is fairly well defined as is the ribbon tying it. the front half of the profile is also well struck. I'm not sure on the reverse what can be attribute to die polishing or strike. i'll wait for FC to comment on that.

a TPG grade would be interesting to see how they treat this coin. just for the heck of it i'll say net VF25
