1952 D Penny Lincoln Needs A New Diet Plan

I was going through my pile of wheat pennies and found a 1952 D Wheat penny that looks to be over weight. Most wheat pennies I weigh stay around 3.1 grams but this one is different at 3.33 grams. Is this normal?

The tolerance for 95% Cents is +/- 0.13 grams. So, assuming your weight is correct, it is out of tolerance by almost 0.1 gram.

No, it's not normal, but it does happen. The coin stock was just rolled a bit thicker than what the high end tolerance should be.
