Someone said- "What to buy next" I do not see much on commemoratives lately. Commem's are a great eway to collect- when you feel a bit flush. Several have trippled in value in the past 6-10 years- A really good investment. And great satisfaction in owning one especially when it takes on toning. See what I mean?

my choice for next one was 2 commems, the Ben Franklin Founding Father and Scientist . I feel these two commems are destined to go up in value in the near future. I have aquired both in proof PF70 by NGC now I am looking for MS70 versions of it

I simply am unable to get this image process in my head- never before had this problem. I feel rather stupid-thought I followed the directions. Tried it several times. I've got a mental block somewhere.

I must say it is a beautiful coin you have, Dewey. I am a huge fan of commemoratives. a coin minted for some special occasion has always attracted me.

I might start collecting the older ones someday. I just have to main different interest right now to add another. but with that said I am always looking soem good prices on them since I will need 3 or 4 don't remember how main hole are in the dansco 7070 type set tha I am slowly working on. I beleave there is 3 Half dollar Commem's and 1 Dollar commem slot. So I do like the older ones. don't like the modern issued ones though as much.

Yes, I have been extremely lucky, except it's not US commemorative coins though. Here are two, actually three coins (that is if the other is determined to be genuine) that I bought a few years ago. Most collectors would not have it in their collections because they are VERY difficult to get hold of, and there is no indication of how many there exists worldwide. 1834 Alexander I Column Proof ruble: 1834 Alexander I Column worn ruble: 1839 proof-like Borodin Ruble: And a link to one of the examples currently up on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...m=8407233964I can't be any happier... :)

I would like to start a collection but most are expensive for my budget. However I'm looking to buy the Oregon Trail and the Buffalo commemorative.
