I know its unlikely it is but I thought it doesn't hurt to ask
I have 1 1974 penny with the s mint mark and than I noticed how one of my other 1974 pennys I have looks like the S mint mark one but didnt have an S so I asked Google and told me that it was highly unlikely that I had a 1974 penny s mint mark error. What do yall think? I added pictures with 1974 D pennys to see the difference and compare
The cent with a "P" only appeared in 2017. Otherwise, no mint mark or "plain" indicated that the coin was struck in Philadelphia. The master hubs and master dyes are made in Philadelphia and originally the branch mints added, by hand, their mint mark (D, S, etc.) to the working hubs and dyes. Today, the master hub is made for each branch mint with the appropriate mint mark.
Well, I can say that your Philly 1974 cent is a large date cent, and in the images that also has the 1974-S in it is a small date cent. (Images 5 and 6)
