This morgan stuck out because of the textile toning that is obvious to me. Paid 130 for it because either though its not a monster toned example ( would have been much more of it was)I still think textile toners are pretty cool and hold a premium. Always love the comments and makes me a more knowledgeable collector learning from those in the community that are veterans in this hobby of kings! Graded ms 63 holdered my NGC.

Decent Morgan but IMO the toning is neutral in terms of adding premium value. There are also obvious contact marks on jaw and neck that look grade-limiting.

It's easy to find attractive 1879-S Morgans in all grades. I wouldn't say you scored a bargain but if you are happy with this one you did OK.

Jaobler- I need to take a picture of the entire coin. Thought it looked solid for the grade. Comparing it to the Morgan's of the same date in the hoard ( you know what I'm talking about) and surprisingly only 20% is sold ...if I had to guess I have a lot to compare to. Or I should say the family has a lot for me to compare to. Ive learned so much the past 3 years from dealing with that ...surprise. I will call u. In the meantime I respect your opinion and partially agree with yellow/ gold not very exciting but thought that textile toning would appeal to somebody despite its neutral color. I like it enough to fill the whole for the time being.
