coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 06/23/2009 06:23 am All Memorial cent reverse designs had the initials, and all were in the same general spot - to the right of the Memorial base. All examples of 'missing initials' are caused by either an obstructed die (such as with grease), an overpolished die, a very worn die, weak hubbing, or some combination of these.
